Drill Sergeant Requirements

As for how to attend the Drill Sergeant School, there are a few requirements you need to fulfill before logging into the ATRRS. These requirements can also be seen in the ATRRS hence the name Army Training Requirements and Resources System.

First and foremost, you must qualify on an M4 or an M16A2 within the last six months. On the other hand, your rank must be E-5 through E-7. However, AIT platoon sergeant candidates must be either E-6 or E-7 so the E-5 rank doesn’t qualify. Other than these, you must have at least four years of continuous active service and have completed the NCO course.

Now that you know the qualifications, you can check the Drill Sergeant courses on ATRRS. Same as any other course, you will be able to see seat reservations, designated class quotas, and see the class schedules.
